BORI CE: 05-195-001 वैशंपायन उवाच |
MN DUTT: 03-264-001 वैशम्पायन उवाच एतच्छ्रुत्वा तु कौन्तेयः सर्वान् भ्रातृनुपह्वरे |
M. N. Dutt: Vaishampayana said Hearing this, the son of Kunti (Yudhishthira) summoned all his brothers. Having summoned (them), O best of the Bharata race, he spoke these words. |

MN DUTT: 03-264-002 युधिष्ठिर उवाच धार्तराष्ट्रस्य सैन्येषु ये चारपुरुषा मम |
M. N. Dutt: Yudhishthira said The spies, whom I have in the army of the son of Dhritarashtra, brought me this news when the night has passed away. |

MN DUTT: 03-264-003 दुर्योधनः किलापृच्छदापगेयं महाव्रतम् |
M. N. Dutt: 'Duryodhana asked the son of Ganga of high vows, "O lord! in what time can you annihilate the army of the sons of Pandu?" |

MN DUTT: 03-264-004 मासेनेति च तेनोक्तो धार्तराष्ट्रः सुदुर्मतिः |
M. N. Dutt: And the wicked son of Dhritarashtra was answered, "In a month." And in that same time Drona also has promised. |

M. N. Dutt: And we have heard that the son of Gautama has promised the same in double that time, and the son of Drona has promised (the same) in ten nights, acquainted as he is with mighty weapons. |

MN DUTT: 03-264-006 तथा दिव्यास्त्रवितं कर्णः सम्पृष्टः कुरुसंसदि |
M. N. Dutt: Then Karna, who knows (the use of) celestial weapons, being asked in the army of the Kurus, has pledged himself to slay us with our armies in five days. |

M. N. Dutt: All these high-minded heroes accomplished in arms, and capable of fighting in desire ways, and they can, no doubt O great king, slay us. |

M. N. Dutt: The three words with all their celestial and all things movable, and all beings that were, or are to b, in the twinkling of an eye; such is what I think. |

MN DUTT: 03-264-012 तद् घोरं पशुपतिः प्रादादस्त्रं महन्मम |
M. N. Dutt: That terrible and mighty weapon which the lord of all gods bestowed on me in the combat are hand-to-hand, with (Mahadeva in the guise of) a hunter, even that (weapon) is with me. |

BORI CE: 05-195-013 यद्युगान्ते पशुपतिः सर्वभूतानि संहरन् |
MN DUTT: 03-264-013 यद् युगान्ते पशुपतिः सर्वभूतानि संहरन् |
M. N. Dutt: That (weapon) which the lord of all gods uses when he annihilates all forms of existence, even that O best among men, is with me. |

BORI CE: 05-195-014 तन्न जानाति गाङ्गेयो न द्रोणो न च गौतमः |
MN DUTT: 03-264-014 तन्न जानाति गाङ्गेयो न द्रोणो न च गौतमः |
M. N. Dutt: The son of Ganga does not know the (weapon), nor Drona, nor the son of Gautama, neither also the son of Drona; O king, whence, then, can the son of Suta (know)? |

MN DUTT: 03-264-015 न तु युक्तं रणे हन्तुं दिव्यैरस्त्रैः पृथग्जनम् |
M. N. Dutt: It is not, however, proper to annihilate in a battle, by means of celestial weapons ordinary men. We will by artless fighting vanquish our foes. |

MN DUTT: 03-264-016 तथेमे पुरुषव्याघ्राः सहायास्तत्र पार्थिव |
M. N. Dutt: Again, these foremost among men are your allies, O king. They are all acquainted with celestial weapons, and all of them, are desirous of battle. |

MN DUTT: 03-264-017 वेदान्तावभृथस्नाताः सर्व एतेऽपराजिताः |
M. N. Dutt: All of them have performed sacrificial rites in company with their wives, after they had become versed respectively in Vedas, and have never been conquered. They can destroy the army of even the gods in battle, O son of Pandu. |
