M. N. Dutt: Godliness is considered to be the means for emancipation, and demoniacness for bondage of births. You need not grieve, O son of Pandu, for Dushasana you are born to be god-like. |

MN DUTT: 04-041-006 द्वौ भूतस! लोकेऽस्मिन् दैव आसुर एव च |
M. N. Dutt: There are two kinds of created beings in this world, namely God-like and demoniac. The God-like has been fully described by me. Now hear from me, Partha, something of the demoniac. Persons of demoniac nature know now what is action and what is inaction. Neither purity, nor good conduct, nor truth exists in them. |

M. N. Dutt: Bound in hundred nooses of Hope, and addicted to lust and wrath, they eagerly desire to possess unfair hoards of wealth, so that they may gratify their desire. |

M. N. Dutt: This is obtained today by Me-I shall obtain this to-morrow, I have this wealth, this wealth again will be mine in addition to what I already possess. |

MN DUTT: 04-041-013 असौ मया हतः शत्रुर्हनिष्ये चापरानपि |
M. N. Dutt: This enemy of mine has been killed by me, I shall kill other enemies also, I am the lord, I am the enjoyed, I am successful, I am powerful and happy. |

M. N. Dutt: I am wealthy, I am nobly born, who is there in this world as I am, I shall sacrifice, I shall make gifts, I shall be merry, (thus say the demoniac), deluded by ignorance. |

M. N. Dutt: Tossed about by innumerable thoughts, enveloped by delusion, and attached to the enjoyment of desire, these men sink into the lowliest hell. |

MN DUTT: 04-041-016 आत्मसम्भाविताः स्तब्धा धनमानमदान्विताः |
M. N. Dutt: These men, being self conceited, stubborn, and full of pride and intoxication of wealth, perform Sacrifices, that are nominal, that rest on hypocrisy, and do not follow the prescribed rules. |

MN DUTT: 04-041-017 अहंकारं बलं दर्प कामं क्रोधं च संश्रिताः |
M. N. Dutt: These men, the servitors, being full of vanity, power, pride, lust and wrath, hate Me in their own bodies as well as in those of others. |

MN DUTT: 04-041-018 तानहं द्विषतः क्रूरान् संसारेषु नराधमान् |
M. N. Dutt: These cruel heaters of Me, these sinful, vilest men among men, are hurled continually down by Me into demoniac wombs (to be demoniac in their next births). |

MN DUTT: 04-041-019 आसुरीं योनिमापन्ना मूढा जन्मनि जन्मनि |
M. N. Dutt: O son of Kunti, these men, taking births into demoniac womb, deluded birth after birth, ge down to the vilest state. |

BORI CE: 06-038-021 त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मनः |
MN DUTT: 04-041-020 त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मनः |
M. N. Dutt: Threefold is the way to hell, ever ruinous to self, namely, lust, and avarice. Therefore, one should, above all, renounces these three. |

M. N. Dutt: Being freed from these three gates of darkness, O son of Kunti, a man works out his own good. He then reaches the highest goal. |

MN DUTT: 04-041-022 यः शास्त्रविधिमुत्सृज्य वर्तते कामकारतः |
M. N. Dutt: He who renounces the ordinance of the Vedas, acts only under the impulse of desire. Such a man can never attain to perfection, happiness, or the highest goal. |

BORI CE: 06-038-024 तस्माच्छास्त्रं प्रमाणं ते कार्याकार्यव्यवस्थितौ |
MN DUTT: 04-041-023 तस्माच्छास्त्रं प्रमाण ते कार्याकार्यव्यवस्थितौ |
M. N. Dutt: Therefore, the Vedas should be your authority in determining what you should do and what you should not do. It is your duty to work in this world, having ascertained what are the ordinances of the Vedas”. |
